We are Llewellin Setter breeders, Joe and Morgan Knight, and this is our story. We both grew up on acreages just outside small towns, Joe near Pella, Iowa and Morgan near White Pigeon, Michigan. In 2015, we met while Joe was out in Michigan to work cornfields, and in 2016, we decided it was time to start a life together in Ankeny, Iowa. Joe introduced the hunting life to Morgan which included owning the best bird dog breed, the Llewellin setter. After some time in the city, we both felt that we needed to get back to our roots and move to the country for our love of peace, wildlife and most importantly, for our beloved pups. In 2021, we moved to our current residence that allows our pups to run on over 20 acres of oak savanna and play in our clear, cool creek. Everyone is happy. We have some ambitious goals for this property that includes improving the habitat for pheasants and other wildlife. In 2021, we had our first litter of Llewellin setters, and we absolutely fell in love with the process and the Llewellin community. Whether folks are purchasing pups for hunting or family homes, we truly feel these dogs make the best companions. We believe in producing the best pups we can, so we health and hunt test our breeding dogs. Earning hunting titles takes time and commitment, but this is all essential to show future owners they are getting a quality pup.
